The original Sixty Special matters because Cadillac placed a proven 346 cu in V-8 and Fleetwood workmanship beneath a sedan body that changed the proportions of American luxury cars. Its low roof, four-window greenhouse, hidden running-board treatment, and integrated trunk were not show-car gestures left behind on a display stand. Cadillac built nearly 18,000 of them in four years.
The best example is not necessarily the brightest restoration or the rarest Imperial. It is the car whose 6019 identity, numbers, structure, trim, upholstery, and mechanical specification tell one consistent story.
